地球开关

　　China is a ‘blank’ site for me in various ways. It is as if a void resulted by in between my emotional distance to the place and its an excess amount of current socio-economical information through mass media. It is, however, like a white piece of paper, rather than a deep hole, where infinite possibility toward a future can be drawn.

　　Into this blankness, I will set a conceptual axis, which would bring a sense of ‘centrality’ of the world into the site. It is an axis through an eye of physical remoteness (from the site), yet also detached from my daily reality in Tokyo. What it would reveal is extreme sense of site specificity by non-site specific maneuver. It is in this ‘site-specificity’ where my project finds its drive. Hopefully it becomes a thin filter where you can see a slightly different daily-scape of China…

　　对我来说，中国以很多不同的方式是一个“空白”的场所。它好像一个空，既代表我与这个陌生地方的情感距离，同时它又是每日大量经济新闻报道的对象。然而它更像是一张白纸而非一个黑洞，在其中，未来的无限可能可以被描绘出来。

　　我将在这个空白中设置一根想像的轴线，轴线会带给这个场所以世界“中心”的假设。它揭示了由非地域性活动导致出的强烈的场所特定性。正是“场所特定性”成为了我作品的驱动力。希望它变成一个薄薄的滤镜，透过它，你能看到一幅不同的日常景象。
